The Ceylon Moor Ladies Union

As The Ceylon Moor Ladies Union approaches nearly nine decades of voluntary community service, we are expanding our vision to address wider social welfare priorities through new initiatives designed to uplift girls and women. Building on our long-standing legacy, we envisage a future where our efforts address the emerging challenges of our time.

Central to our mission is the relocation of our Home for Girls to a more comfortable and conducive environment, ensuring it fully aligns with the requirements of the Department of Probation and Child Care Services. Beyond residential care, we are actively extending educational assistance to needy students in Galle and Ampara, while providing external sponsorships to deserving undergraduates. Our commitment to empowerment continues through vocational support and skills training for young women, including specialized in-residence programs for those above 18.

Furthermore, we remain dedicated to providing welfare assistance to vulnerable families and individuals during times of national crisis and emergencies, ensuring that our support reaches those who need it most. Through these strategic advancements and with the blessings of Almighty Allah, we remain steadfastly committed to nurturing the next generation and building a resilient community.
